SP survey
Stated preference surveys (stated preference survey) are used to estimate users’ (travellers or others) sensitivity to supply-related parameters (time, price/fare, frequency, connections, punctuality/reliability, comfort, etc.) when choosing between several alternatives (transport modes, operators, tickets, services, etc.).
In Detail
These SP surveys require a specific statistical analysis based on discrete choice theory and the economic concept of stakeholders’ “utility”. The results of these analyses provide the basis for market share (or modal share) forecasts and socio-economic assessments (cost–benefit analyses).
Stratec’s teams have developed recognised expertise in stated preference surveys, having conducted this type of survey for 30 years for numerous clients and on a wide range of issues (passenger and freight, road, rail, inland waterways, air, mode choice, departure time choice, households’ residential location choice, etc.).
