Shared micromobility surveys in the Brussels Region
Brussels Mobility conducted two surveys among users and non-users of shared micromobility in the Brussels region.
The modes targeted by this survey were shared scooters, bicycles (electric and non-electric), and mopeds, whether in free-floating fleets or at stations.
Various operators active in the Brussels Region were involved: Dott, Lime, Voi, Pony, Tier, Poppy, Bolt, Bird, Villo!, and Felyx.
Location: Brussels-Capital Region
Client: Brussels Mobility
Date: 2022-2023
Partner: AQRate
Context and Objectives
Two separate surveys were conducted at the end of 2022: one for users and the other for non-users of shared micromobility.
The objective was to understand the motivations and barriers to use, particularly regarding the Villo! service, to identify desired improvements, and to test the impact of changes to the service offering.
Results
The study, based on more than 3,000 responses (2,400 users, 600 non-users), made it possible to identify the profiles, uses, and expectations of different audiences, thereby contributing to the consideration of a more attractive and integrated micromobility model in Brussels.
These results notably inform the regional authority’s reflections as the Villo! public service concession approaches its expiration.
